The the noisy-libido of many Social Democratic Candidate’s supporters, Alhaji Muritala Ajaka was tickled yesterday when Osita Chidoka was contracted to reel out his own judgement on Channels Television about the recently concluded November 2023 Gubernatorial election in the state which produced His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ododo as a winner.
Known for propaganda and gidigbo politics, the jaguda Boys went to pull their last string, which can easily be described as last kick of a dying horse. It is the almighty formula and strategy of the SDP, known for many name-dropping and shadow slinging of what doesn’t exist, which they try to force into existence.
Would the Channels act of Subjidication of a case that has gone through the legal panel beating at the Kogi Tribunal and Appeal Courts be affected by the independent organization led by Osita Chidoka, a Former Minister and a card carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, affect the outcome of the Supreme Court ruling today?
For avoidance of doubt, are the keen watchers of the unfolding event not curious as to why an independent arm without legislative authority to conduct elections become overnight umpire to decide electoral results, usurping the constitutional powers of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, who had the discretion and experience to conduct and declare winner in all elections in Nigeria?
Chidoka’s team was paraded on national television to give Verdict, brandishing names and figures in an election she was never part of, not even as an observer. The shenanigans has thrown pandemonium in the air, with many hopes skyrocketing even in the face of obvious deceit. The unknown party which could barely produce agents to man the entire polling units in the election seem to claim popularity of victory even when she could barely organize humans for only election management.
Looking at the issues, I shall attempt to ask the following questions:
1. What is the intention of Chidoka coming to preement the court especially when it is known by Law that when cases are subjects of litigation, it does not become another field for media litigation as that constitutes contempt against the court which is known as “sub-judicial”. 2. Is Osita Chidoka aware that his own figures which were generated from his own sources of independent information differs from what was presented in open court by the SDP litigant who promised to present over 600 witnesses in court to plead their case of over-voting but only ended up producing 25 witnesses?
3. Is Osita Chidoka and his team aware that SDP witnesses in court attested to compliance to Electoral rules where votes were duly cast and results were openly declared in all the Polling units under inspection before the judges in open court?
4. Is Osita Chidoka and his SDP contractors not aware that cases are judged based on merit and not the narrative churned by Social activists who stomach various interests with heavy under current fines?
In closing, with the acclaimed evidence which has been generated by Osita Chidoka, one would wonder why he wasn’t listed as a star witness to testify against APC at the Tribunal and Appeals or does his evidence open another door of restarting the case afresh, where Supreme Court Judges would allow them admit new exhibit to be tendered as evidence?
These farmers are on their way to harvesting without planting. The rains are here, but a man who has put his farm in order is Alhaji Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress, who won the election with a wide margin, criss-crossing his Electoral reach across the Three Senatorial District, instead of a candidate that wanted to win a state wide election from only his Senatorial District.
For those who have decided to set themselves up for high blood pressure, my condolences are with you especially that the economy is going through a turbulence with drugs hitting the roof tops in pricing. Watch your reality, it is a good habit if you want to live long.
The Supreme Court is not a Court of evil spirits, it is Judges who rise from the Federal High Courts that man the Appeal Court. It is Judges who rise from the Appeal Court that man the Supreme Court. The Constitution is a single document for all courts, it does not change because of emotions, neither does it blink to blackmails or dance to the tune of bogus wishes. The Judges will check what the lower courts superintendended by sound legal luminaries have done, they will judge the case on the merits of evidence presented and the letters of the Law. Heaven will not fall!
His Excellency, Governor Usman Ododo would rule until another election season.
